Bachelor of Library Science (B.Lib.):

This is the one year course program which is conducted by The Global Open University, Nagaland. This one year course is divided into two semesters. 

Examination is to be conducted each of the year beteween 25 to 29 June and between 27 to 31 December at major cities in India which includes Ahmedabad, Delhi, Goa, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nasik, Shimla, Varanasi, Udaipur, Hyderabad etc.

 

First Semester includes following subjects:

New Trends in Information Science

Cataloguing and Classification

Reference Services in Library

History of Library and Information Science

Library Administration

 

Second Semester includes following subjects:

Digital Libraries

Emerging Issues in Library System

Modern Library Services

Changing Dimensions of Library Management

World Famous Public Libraries

 

After completion of B.Lib. (Bachelor of Library Science) degree, you are eligible for M.Lib. (Master of Library Science) degree which is also one year course.

 

Bachelor’s Thesis is requited to be submitted by the B.Lib. students before commencement of B.Lib. Final Examination.

 

Study materials provided in this course is totally English. If students find difficulty in writing in English Medium, they can write Examination in Hindi Language. 

 

Fees for B.Lib. is approximately Rs. 13,600/-. This fees included registration fees, admission fees as well as tuition fees.

You can send also demand draft in the name of THE GLOBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY, NAGALAND which is to be submitted to the Admissions Officer. If you lost your Library Card, you must inform to the library staff immediately and you will get Duplicate Library Card with a nominal cost.

 

There is Internet facility available in the library also. You can access it with a limited period of time only.

 

If you want to change your residential address, you will contact directly through fax, mail or in written application to the library staff.

 

Books which you have borrowed must be return with a specified date. If you submit it later on, you have to pay a nominal charge for a particular books for late submission.

 

If you are a member of British Library, you are allowed to borrow books from the any of the British Library in the India. You can also reserve the books with the help of Reservation Card facility also. This card is to be issued at a nominal charge.
