Ahmedabad Management Association is the best in the country. It is contributing management profession through various types of educational and research activities. AMA was established by Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai and other professionals. AMA is non-profit and independent. Over 350 institutional and about 2000 professional manager members, AMA provides regular knowledge in management through various management programmes. AMA has received Best Local Management Association Award by the All Indian Management Association about 14 times for its good contributions towards management. AMA is also certified by ISO 9001 organisation and also approved by Government of Gujarat.

Education Diploma Programmes

Admission is open for all degree holders, diploma holders as well as fresh graduates also.

The admission process included screening of applications, written test and interviews also. Medium of all programmes are english, so good command over spoken and written english is essential for each of the candidate. Diploma Programmes covers all methods like lecture cum discussion, group projects and research. But it is depend on the course. Minimum academic qualification is required by the students who want to join this programme. Participants are required to work atleast two hours outside the class. Test is necessary for each of the candidate’s memory of power. To attend class is compulsory for each of the candidate. Tests as well as assignments also covered under this programme. Participants must pass all the tests. AMA Diploma Programme conducted by the experienced faculty from various industries and professions. Attendance for each of the student is compulsory in this type of progamme. Absent must be approved bu the proper coordinator of the programme. At least 80 % attendance is required for qualifying for getting Diploma Award.

Diploma Programme for working Professionals:

Part time based diploma programmes available at AMA which are useful for working persons. Not only working persons but also fresh graduate students can also join in this programme. Time of this programme is only evening and it is only part time base programme.

Computer Centre:

Computer Centre is the best part in AMA. It is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The AMA Library:

AMA Library is open to AMA members and also for AMA students. Rs. 500/- deposit is necessary for borrowing books and other reading materials. After giving deposit I.Card will be issued to the students. AMA library is also provided its service to MBA students also at a nominal charge. This library is fully computerised.

AMA library consists of 25,000 books, about 300 magazines and about 20,000 articles from these magazines. The library gives also facility of newspapers. Besides this facility library also provides audio cassettes and Video cassettes, CDs facility to their members. There are some special books available like WTO, International Trade etc.

Articles:

300 magazines are subscribed to which include management, international business, finance, investment, business, infrastructure, tourism, health, chemical, economics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, plastics, computers, self development, energy etc. All important articles from these magazines are indexed. Members can access information on various subjects from the 20000 computerized records.

Language Learning Facility:

Audio cassette is played very vital role in terms of language learning programme. There are various types of languages like English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Russian etc. Members can get benefit of this programme with a nominal cost. Some other good items like tape recorder, cassettes etc. provided by the library.

Internet Browsing Facility:

Internet is necessary at this age. All members of AMA library can access internet facility with a nominal charge per hour. Through internet members can increase their knowledge online also.

AMA Library provides best service for new arrivals in the library through email to its members as and when necessary.

In the library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) provides users with a listing of all materials available. There are facility to search by keywords, title of the books, subject of the book etc. OPAC also give information about book whether it is available or issued to other members.

Members can borrow two books for a period of 30 days. Renewals requests must be received on or before the due date. If you fail to submit book in time, you have to pay fine also. Fine is not a big amount but a small amount.

AMA provides facility of photocopying service for academic or research purposes. Readers must contact the Information Desk for obtaining photocopies from AMA Library materials.

Online resources available at AMA Library for its members only. Trade regulations and exim policy, live export and import trade leads, product specific trade statistics etc.
