Post Graduate Programme in Management

Doctorate Programme : Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. The main objective of this programme is to provide students with some important skills to research in the field of management. This programme provides best opportunities for inter disciplinary education and research. Students can determine their own direction under the faculty guidance. This programme gives training in the area of research in various areas of specialisation. The student becomes part in any one of these groups and acquires knowledge and practical aspects of the particular area. This programme will complete after five years. First year only general management overview, second year students take advanced doctoral level courses, remaining years students make original contribution in the area of management. After completion of this doctorate programme each of the student find good opportunities in India as well as abroad in various fields of research. The FPM of IIMA is recognised as equivalent to Ph. D. in management by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Management Development Programme titute conducts the following major ogammes:

• One-year Post-Graduate Programme in Management in Public Management and Policy (PGP-PMP, equivalent to MBA)

• Two-year Post-Graduate Programme in Management (equivalent to MBA)

• One-year Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX, equivalent to MBA)

The Campus

IIMA campus is the best campus which attracts students and visitors both. The campus spread with 67 acres and extended by a further 39 acres. The campus will provide more facility with classrooms, dormitories and ancillary facilities. The broad, airy corridors, the amphitheatre classrooms, and transition spaces in the complex further enhance interaction among the faculty, students, and visitors. The campus has wide range of hosing facilities alongwith 20 dormitories, each capable of accommodating 25-40 students in independent rooms. There is also plenty in open space in each dorm for the students. Each dorm is provided with a pantry, washing machine, oven etc facility. Students who are married or unmarried, separate hosing facility is available in the campus. The campus also provides sports as well as fitness facilities.

Vikram Sarabhai Library

This the big library in the campus including more than 1,75,000 volumes, about 600 current periodicals, more than 700 CDs and also about 2000 working papers and dissertations. It also provides good searching facility with indexing. The library has set up the 3i network to provide business, industry, environmental, agricultural, and economic information to the users.

Information Technology Infrastructure

Each of the student and faculty has provide networked personal computer at his or her disposal. All the computers are connected with High-speed servers. The Institute’s network is linked to the Internet and available 24 hours. Each classroom has a computer connected to this network. Students and faculty can use computers for research and projects purpose.

Kasturbhai Lalbhai Management Development Centre

This is the centre which is a completely self-sufficient, stand-alone unit, a short distance from the main buildings. It has covered with more than 60 centrally air-conditioned double rooms, a dining hall, a reading lounge, sports facility, computer library etc. The Institute’s management development programmes as well as seminars and conferences are held here.

Placement

IIMA provides best placement services for Indian as well as foreign recruiters. The market for the Graduate from the institute will jump day to day. As freshly placed recruits continue to deliver on their promises and satisfy their employers. Institution placement are handled by the students, from the corporate interactions during the year to the Placement Week, every year. The placements are spread from November to March.
